Baby's First 4th

Mason,

I just got super mushy that I cried. I imagine you have come to learn, Mommy doesn't cry, ever. I was rocking you without your paci and you were just staring at me, touching my face. Then, I got to the Celine song. You fell asleep during the second verse. I can put my baby to sleep by singing. I am not the lovey dovey type. Don't get me wrong, I love love and I LOVE to cuddle but being able to put my beautiful son to sleep by singing is wonderful. I then proceeded to tell you how much I love and you how much I hope you always know how much I love you. I apologized for those times I get frustrated now, then, and those times to come. You are an amazing little boy. Perfect. I have wanted you my whole life. A little boy with blonde hair and blue eyes who would be fun and inquisitive. How blessed am I to receive just what I asked for? I am going to try my hardest to be the best mom I can be. You deserve it.

Anyway, we celebrated your first 4th of July yesterday. You were intrigued by the bubbles, poppers and the sparklers but you really enjoyed just chillin' outside with A.K. and I and touching the grass. Later in the evening, you watched the D.C. fireworks on television and you danced to '76 trombones. When I say danced, it is really wiggled like you were in the bouncy thing but on Grandma's knee. We learned yesterday that you don't like chicken. We found out last week you didn't like beef. Yeah, a vegan.

In other news, we can see white from the top right of your gums. I think you'll have a spike there soon. You also seem to not be into formula as much anymore, especially your 6 ounce around noon. You "rocky rocky" like crazy! You love being up on all fours but really haven't made the move yet. We are so excited you have been working on other milestones though. You mastered getting in and out of the seated position without face planting and you scoot all the time. You can say, "ba ba" now too. Lately, you have been putting your lips against your gums and smacking. You look like a 100 year old man with no teeth! You reach now, even to strangers. You can get sassy with it too. Grandma or Daddy (not really with A.K. or Pop) will put there arms out and you will cling to me and do your biting and shaking thing. After a few times, you extend to them. Yeah for Mommy love!

All for now,
Mom

Let freedom forever fly

Mason,

KCRG wiped you out this morning! We moved you to the big kids classroom and seems like you loved it. While you nap, I wanted to tell you about yesterday. Daddy, you, and I went to the Square Bagel then into the Marietta Square to hang out with the Curry's, their families, and my family and to watch fireworks. You were quite sleepy the whole evening but not fussy. More observant. The fireworks started about 9:30. You fell asleep on A.K. at 9:15. You slept through the whole thing! I popped a bottle in your mouth and changed your diaper...still asleep. You woke up about 10 minutes after the fireworks display and we hung out a little longer. We watched as your great grandmother danced for people watching a live band. That was a funny sight! Oh and guess what, you saw Jakson! He was out partying with his Mommy and Daddy late too. Today we are headed to Grammy and Pop's for a BBQ.

Love ya,
Mom

Scooter

Mason,

You scoot fast and with a purpose! It is so cool to watch your wheels spin. You have done it a couple times but this morning you picked up a ball with your feet then grabbed it. It was awesome! You did it twice. Then I grabbed the video camera, and you didn't do it and you got mad. I guess it's good I write to you or else you wouldn't know how great of a little boy you are since you are camcorder shy.
You love the bottom of your exersaucer. You always crawl to it. You smile when Julie Clark's voice comes on your favorite video. It's like you know what show is about to come on. As always, when you start to leak out of every single brand of diapers, it is time to move up. We are movin' on to size 4 Luvs brand!
Mr. Wyatt came over to play today. You liked him and you showed him by continually touching his face and stealing his toys.

Two in One

Mason,

Two posts in one day! That my dear is how fast you grow. A few days ago, it looked like you waved your arm to say bye bye. Well today confirmed you milestone. You waved bye bye to the dog then to Pop. I have figured out what letter sounds you are making. Obviously you make more than this but these are some I caught: short a, short o, b, d, k, g. You are a shopper like Mommy. We went to two stores with you today and you were wonderful. You were pretty cranky overall today though. I am guessing your top teeth are trying to make a debut. Lately, you have gone to sleep in the crib with your pacifier. I don't feel like arguing with you and you spit it out when you totally fall asleep anyway.

Love you,
Mommy

Face Plant

Mas,

You are really kicking growing into high gear!

You received a walker as a present from Mrs. Sherry, one of Mommy's former co-workers, you LOVE it until you hit into something. It is like watching a video of myself. You get SO mad.

You love balls. Grandma has a ball popper thing and we have a gum-ball machine toy and you love them. Now that you scoot everywhere, you like to chase them. Well, you whine as you chase them but whatever.

You like Baby Einstein's Neighborhood Animals video. You watching your show:
You look SO big in the second picture!

Coming to get you, Mom (and you did!)!

Yesterday, you crawled two "steps." You haven't done it since. You prefer to scoot. You can get up on your knees from a sitting or laying on your belly position and you can go from sitting to being on your belly. Awesome! When you get up on your knees, you rock like crazy. Sometimes you get mad but lately, you have seemed pretty excited. You face plant all the time though.

We had a second play date with your buddy Haven a few days ago. He is crawling all over the place. It is good for you to see examples of your next milestone. You two always wanted the same toy. You being the feisty little boy you are got mad when he would come anywhere near the toy you had. Haven would look at you pitching a fit and was like, "it's ok dude."

You have started babbling more now. For a while, you weren't saying as much. You are back to "dada" and other noises that really sound like you are trying to speak.

We are going to the store today to get some baby proofing stuff.

The Mom

Bromance

Mason,

Another fun play date with Wyatt and Jakson. Of course, you slept through half of it but you had a good time none the less. You have such a high pitched voice in comparison to the boys. While Wyatt's mommy was blowing up his toy, I was holding you while Wyatt just kept laughing at you. So cute.

I know all of us mommy's are looking forward to watching you guys grow up together. Wyatt's mommy thinks we should move into the same school district; I am all for that!

In other news, your scooting is in full force. You even got up on your knees and rocked today. Pop gives you a week until you are crawling on all fours. Speaking of Pop, he is the only one you really reach for still. You lovey him. You do this really strange thing when Grandma and I first hold you. You like squeeze and try to eat our shoulders. Weirdo.

What you got boy, is hard to find

Lady at La Parilla: "Your son is beautiful"

Me: "Thank you"

Lady: "He should be a model baby"

Me: "He is"
