11 months

Baby Lou,

I honestly can't believe we have come so far. I know that sounds ridiculous but it's true. Time really does fly this first year. 4 weeks until my baby becomes a toddler.

In the post about the Braves game, I told you all the words you know. You have such a sweet and high pitched voice. You like to be heard.

Although we are sleep training at night, your schedule looks like...
7:30 Wake up
7:45-8:00 Breakfast
rice or oatmeal mixed with a 4 oz. jar of fruit
     4 oz. bottle
10:00 nap (1-1.5 hours)
11:45-12:00 6 ounce bottle
2:00ish nap (1-1.5 hours)
3:00-3:30 Lunch
     1 jar fruit
     .5 jar veggie
6:30 Dinner
1 6 oz. jar veggie and meat mix
cut up chicken, beef, or turkey and a veggie
8:00-8:30 6 ounce bottle then bed

I love giving you yogurt for lunch and you eat it fast. The whole milk, organic yogurt comes in 4 oz. containers and are perfect along with a veggie. I know you wish you could eat yogurt and pasta all day.

You woke up at 12:30 and after two checks by Daddy that didn't help (didn't make it worse but didn't help), eventually you fell asleep around 1:45 a.m. Slept until 7:30. I think we are getting somewhere. This soothing stuff is really hard for you because up until last week if you fussed at night, Dad or I would pop the paci and you would drift back off. You won't take it at night anymore which is good and bad.

You are getting much better at playing by yourself. I retired a lot of toys that you never even touched a few days ago. You like things that move. Right now, you are playing with a noisy fire truck. Rolling it everywhere and making noise. You also love your rocket swing outside. You love to dance. Dancing to you means bobbing up and down. Whether it's on your knees, standing, or just sitting, when there is music being played or a song sung, look out!

We had to buy you a new wardrobe as all of your fall/winter clothes don't fit yet. You fit best in 6-9 month clothes. The 12 month clothes are too long in the sleeves and pants. Old Navy 6-12 month jeans fit great. Still in size 4 diapers.

When I put my hand over your mouth, you start making, "ahh" noises then I move my hand back and forth and you love the noise it makes. At Wyatt's the other night, you actually did it with your hand. Have yet to do it again but still cute. You like to make the noise on my arm but I won't let you anymore because you end up deciding to bite it. You like to clap and what is most funny is that you clap every time you fall on your butt. I guess months of seeing all of us do it sponged in.

Your sensory overload face is crazy. I love it because it reminds me of the face I make. We bought you a funky caterpillar yesterday and you tensed up and made the sensory face. It is your new favorite car toy. I named him Weirdo. You love to push things especially toys that roll and your stroller. It is so funny watching you push your stroller one handed!

Love you Baby Mason,
Mommy

Tonight you farted, then laughed about it

The End

Just kidding (I would never have a letter that short!). I honestly thought you were as cute as they come but when you smile really big and I can see your teeth, you are even cuter. Unbelievable. Here you are making that silly o face.

Tonight, you fell asleep right after your bottle so I'll be sure and give an update tomorrow as to how the remainder of the evening fares. Wyatt turned 11 months today and in honor, we had a play date and went to La Pa. Today we also found out that Jakson is going to be a big brother!

You are walking really well now. Daddy and I love to let you hold 1 of both of our fingers and walk. You can also walk one handed. After those two steps on Sunday, we are thinking you are building up that confidence. The elimination of the third nap and implementation of the 8:30 bedtime is awesome. I am glad we are doing it.

Today, you got to hang with Grace and Karen. They love you so much and try to Mommy you. While Grace was feeding you and making a mess, she looked at me and said, "and you do this all the time?"

Love you Baby Mason,
Mommy

Mason-1, Mommy and Daddy-0

Mas,

So last night we did ok. I laid you down and soon after started screaming your little head off. Daddy went up about 15 minutes later and rubbed your back and head until you fell asleep. You woke up about 1:45 and we let you cry until you fell back to sleep. Yeah for us until 3:40 rolled around and I couldn't help it anymore. I went in and rubbed you and you weren't having it. I left, you screamed, I woke up with an almost 11 month old next to me this morning. We tried.

Momma

Just like your Mom

Mason,

Here is how the fireplace match went tonight...

You crawled slowly to fireplace and when you realized we were watching you, crawled faster. Stand up on the fireplace...

Mommy: "Come here"

Mason: "a" (high pitched)

Mommy: "Mason, come over here"

Mason: "a" (and looks at the fireplace)

Daddy: "Mason!"

Mason: "Dad!"

Yeah, fiesty is an understatement

Love,
Momma

Good luck charm

Mason,

So much is going on I apologize for not writing sooner.
Before the Braves game on Sunday, I stood you up and Alex said, "walk to me." So you did! You took two steps. The four of us (Daddy, Chris, Alex, and I) couldn't believe it. Speaking of the Braves, the game was Bobby Cox's last regular season game as the manager of the Braves. It was an intense game since it determined whether the Braves go to the playoffs. Well, your fourth game and you have yet to see them lose! We have a great time tailgating and at the game and you even did the tomahawk chop (ok it was a wave but whatever). Of course, nap time came and you took an hour nap on me. Hopefully we can take you to a playoff game.

The following day Daddy and I took you to play with Wy Guy. We even got to meet Wy's Daddy. Most play dates, you are the bully and the active one and Wyatt sits and watches. It was the complete opposite this time. He was screaming and making you cry (it is so funny when he does that, sorry) and crawling over you because you wouldn't move. You two also made a mess with some Tupperware.
A.J. didn't believe me when I said you crawled in cabinets

Everything is, "ball." It is so cute! You are still enjoying talking (loudly), being opinionated, listening to the mariachi at La Pa, spitting, and being attached to Mommy. You have started putting your right hand up to your right cheek. It looks like you are posing or something. Not sure what that's about. You can say the following (other than ball): Mom, Momma, Dad, Daddy, and whoa (when walking or climbing. I love how it's in the right context). Dog and A.K. are randomly said, but said none the less. You also will randomly mimic something I say.

As far as sleeping goes, it has gotten worse. After two nights of you screaming at 2 a.m., I took you to the doctor. Lo and behold our suspicions were right on; you are having night terrors. What makes them so awful is that you are asleep and have no idea you are being comforted. It is horrible. After the appointment (you weighed 19lbs. 8 ounces with clothes), Dad and I decided to change your bedtime to 8-8:30 and let you decide if you need the third nap. The past two nights, you have fallen asleep great with or without the nap but 10:00 rolls around and out comes the night terror. So sleepy ol' me puts you in bed with us. Since that isn't helping and Mommy is sleeping about 4 hours a night, that is not happening anymore. Sadly, like the doctor suggested, we just need to let you cry. Because you have no idea you are even having the terrors, you won't realize we aren't there (hopefully). This is such an awful thing for all of us and I pray we will have a full nights rest again soon.

Love you,
Momma

Happy birthday!

Mas,

Ok so it's a little early but whatever! Happy early birthday May Day. I took the liberty of buying your birthday present since I knew you would love it. Yup, tents, tunnels, and a ball pit. Ask me to show you the video of when I showed it to you the first time. You were super stoked!

In other news, on Saturday (9/25), you went to Jessica's birthday party where Memaw gave you your first bite of Cheet-Os and you played with your cousins all afternoon. That evening, you spent the night with Grandma and Pop so Mommy and Daddy could celebrate our anniversary.
You like to chug your sippy
While out to eat, you started clapping! When I saw it the next day, it was so cute! You do it all the time now.

You randomly said, "car" and later that day, "ball." You say ball a lot now. The other day at Grandmas's you looked like you were digging in the kitchen. We said, "Mas, what are you doin'?" You held the ball up and said, "b" very matter of factly. You make this funny no chin face. You will have to see videos or ask Dad or I to show you. For probably over a month now, we say, "come on" and you do just that. We are teaching you your first sign, more.

You say, "whoa" a lot especially when you are climbing. Speaking of climbing, the other day you crawled out of the playroom while I was on the computer. I called to you a few minutes later. No noise. That is never good. On the hunt I went and where did I find you? Three steps up with your hand in a tub of Vaseline. Good times.

You sat on a yellow jacket. Good times. Actually you cried for 2 minutes then wanted us to leave you alone so you could play. No reaction!

Your sleep has been awful. The past few nights, the minute one of us lays you down, you pop right back up. Up until last night, you would pop up and Daddy (not me) could lay you down and rub your head until you fell asleep (ok, if Daddy helped me I could). Last night was a different story. I tried to rub your head and failed to get you back down so as the doctor recommended, I let you cry. I said, "nigh night" and walked out. You screamed like someone was stabbing you for 5 minutes until Daddy and I came up and rubbed your head and you fell asleep. Then comes 2 a.m. The screaming begins again. Not crying but screaming. Daddy went in and you laid down for 2 minutes before you started again. Tired ol' me came in and picked you up and put you in bed with us. You are the worst person to sleep with! Daddy took up half the bed and you took up the other half. Legs out, arms out, no room for Mommy! Needless to say, the two of you slept fine until 7:15 when you woke up. Daddy changed you and then we let you play in our room while we laid their and talked. After Daddy noticed some eye-rubbage, he picked you up and we all slept until 9:15. Daddy and I are thinking growth spurt....babies are weird.

So yeah, I took you to the doctor yesterday to have her re-check your ears. Clear :) You weighed the same as last week, 18 12. Oh and you have now taken one step three times.

Tonight Memaw and Grandaddy came over to eat dinner and play.
Clap hands!
Uncle Chris came over tonight too (he comes over like 3 times a week you are asleep). You guys have always had a silly relationship. Your Uncle Chris loves you to pieces but he isn't much of a baby guy. He met you for the first time a day after you were born.

You and Aunt Alex right before you turned 5 months

When we went to Florida with U.C. and Alex (your girlfriend), I remember him watching you eat and being totally grossed out. It was hilarious. What made it more funny was that you would stare at him the whole time. You love to just stare at him (almost weird). Tonight though, you crawled right up to him.

Love you,
Mommy
You are just ridiculously cute

In the middle of September, we still play out in the rain

Mason,

Tonight, the Spinner clan and Mommy and Dad took you to the North Georgia State Fair. It has rained the past couple days and it clear just enough to have a great time.

Last year, Mommy was 32 weeks pregnant and we all kept talking about how much fun your first state fair would be. Well, it was.
You were in awe of everything from the rides to the animals.

We had fun being silly too!

Mommy even got to take you on the carousel. We got right on and you sat like a big boy and held on. Then when the ride stopped, you yawned like you were bored then started rocking back and forth in hopes that you could ride again. Next year we will sneak you on some bigger rides, crazy man.

When we got home, I decided to break out the 12 month pajamas thinking, "even though he won't fit into them, we'll try anyway." I was wrong. I almost cried seeing you in your big boy pajamas. The PJs you are wearing tonight Mommy and Daddy bought them on our one year wedding anniversary.

Speaking of, today we celebrated Mommy and Daddy's 2 year anniversary. We never imagined that 14 months later we would have a Mae Mae and be celebrating our 2 year anniversary with our 10 1/2 month. Time flies. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Love you forever,
Mommy
