Snow Day

Hey love bug,

You are such a character! You are continuing to coo and giggle all the time. Just so we will never forget you are there, the past 2 nights you have started crying in your sleep! Yes, you are asleep and crying; like a bad dream or something. During your nap, I watched as your lip got big, then cry for a minute or so, then still with eyes close, stop and drift back off. Strange little child :)

A few days ago, Mommy decided to start using formula and you seem to be taking to it fairly well (my body isn't but that is a whole other story). It takes you about 45 minutes to eat about 4-5 ounces. Sometimes you will cry because the formula makes you burp a bunch; it's better than gas!

It snowed here yesterday and you were not impressed. Mommy took you out while you were awake an you hated it! I brought you back upstairs then when Daddy came home, you had already fallen asleep so we took you outside for some pictures LOL. 

You love to play on your back. You can lay in the same position with sometime talk with you for an hour! Don't get me wrong, you love to be held but sometimes you want to just chill and chat. 

Still hate your car seat :( Hopefully that will change since you will be in the car quite a lot next week and the weeks to come.

Hey big boy,

This past week was fun! On Monday, we went to the doctor and you weighed your birthday, 11 pounds 8 ounces. You were also consistently sleeping from bedtime (9- 9:30) to about (3-4:30). You are an early riser, usually waking around 7:30. Each day you learn how to talk more! When you start to get fussy, it sounds like you are trying to tell us what you want. Your cry sounds like you are saying, "ma ma." You have found your hands! Not only can you rub your eyes, you try to soothe yourself by sucking (more like drooling) on your fist. You can fit almost the whole thing in your mouth.

We also went to lunch with Elizabeth and Jakson; you two were super cute! In 2 days, you will be 3 months old. Holy crap! Where did the time go? One more week at home with you, sweet boy......

Yep, another nickname. Anyway, you slept 7.5 straight hours last night then after eating, slept another two. Thank you big boy for a god night's rest. You like to sleep on your right side; I wonder if that will stick. While positioner at Grandma and Grandpa's yesterday, you fell asleep in my arms then took a nap in your. Of course, you sleep in your positioner at night, but never for naps. What a big boy!

This weekend, you had your first sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It went SO well. Grandma says that when you get older, she will watch movies with you, make popcorn, the whole deal. She also said if you are good, she may take you to the toy store. I am writing this so you can remind her of her promises LOL.

Mason,

I had to write today. Yesterday, you looked SO cute for your Granddaddy and Grandma's birthday dinner.

 You also looked cute in your outfit this morning....apparently, you didn't think so. That's right Mason, you pooped on Mommy while eating for the third time this week! You have some seriously explosive poop! So guess what? You and Mommy took a shower together :) It was so cute. You didn't seem to mind at all (of course reading it now, you probably are minding...a lot). Anyway, had to share that.

11 weeks

Mason, 

So you are about 11 1/2 weeks now. I fall more in love with you each day. You smile constantly and love to coo. Laying flat, you can now lift your head. A few days ago, you started rubbing your eyes when you get tired. I retired all of your newborn clothes this week. 0-3 in all but Old Navy clothes; you are in 3-6 months in their clothes. You are in size 2 diapers now too. Mommy figured that out the hard way...It is so much fun watching you become a big boy. 

Night time has changed since I wrote last. Eating once at night only lasted a few days. You eat two or three times a night but you are continuing to sleep through transitions so I am thankful for 3 segments of 3 hour sleep!

Mason,

It has been about a week since your night time light bulb turned on. You have been going to sleep around 10:30 and not waking to eat until 3:00-4:00 in the morning, then waking again 3-4 hours later for your first feeding. 

Our night time ritual begins with you eating around 9:30, then a bath (3 nights a week), diaper and pajamas, then a story. Once you start getting fussy, I will turn off the lamp and sing to you until you get tired. Then I will lay you down still awake and you fall asleep all by yourself! Daddy and I are super proud of you. Because I have been going to sleep within 30 minutes, I have been getting about 4-4 1/2 hours of consecutive sleep! Daddy and I wonder what did it for you. Age? Temperature turn down? Lavendar room scent? Who knows, but who cares. We are all sleeping better and could not be more thankful. 

In other news, you are talking and smiling up a storm. I wish my eyes were a camcorder because I can never grab it fast enough! My eyes get all teary when you look at me and smile and start gabbing (so the camcorder would be broken anyway). You are so much fun to play with!
